A few weekends back, we decided to make a quick trip down to Lake Chapala to have a late breakfast/lunch at Monte Coxala, a restaurant and spa that overlooks the lake, between the towns of Ajijic and Jocotepec. Our former Travel Orders neighbors (we miss y’all!) had recommended the place because the restaurant also had a good play area for the kids. The lake area is a good option when we need to get out of the house to keep the kids occupied in the morning.
Just before the new year, we enjoyed a nice day trip down to Lake Chapala, this time visiting the town of Chapala. DiploTot was even able to enjoy a nice boat ride out on the lake.
This past Saturday we made a nice little day trip down to Lake Chapala and the town of Ajijic. It is about an hour drive south, which works great with two kids in tow. The town was very quaint and featured a nice boardwalk area along the lake, as well a a very pretty central plaza.
